Individual Purchases
AHIMA accepts returns on individual purchases of regular books meeting all the following criteria:
- The product must be returned within 30 days of the date of delivery.
- The returned product must be received in resalable condition, not visibly damaged or with portions missing.
- The returned product must not be out of print or discontinued.
- The returned product must be accompanied by the packing slip or a copy of the slip.
When in doubt about the eligibility of a product you want to return, e-mail Member Services or call the Member Services hotline at (800) 335-5535. Refer to the chart below for the annual return cutoff dates for some products. The cost of return shipping is not refundable. Note that AHIMA on Demand products cannot be returned for refund. See below.
Bookstore Purchases
Returns on bookstore purchases of regular AHIMA books must be received in resalable condition, not visibly damaged or with portions missing. We cannot accept returns on out-of-print or discontinued products; we require that bookstores make a Request for return authorization by fax at (312) 233-1500, or by telephone at (800) 335-5535, before shipping any returns. The packing slip must also be enclosed with the return. Refer to the chart below for the annual return cutoff dates for some products.

CD Audio Seminar Purchases
Audio seminar purchases are final. No returns will be accepted.
Reprints, Textbook, and Online on Demand Purchases
Purchases of AHIMA on Demand products are final. AHIMA on Demand products are not returnable. Reprints and customized textbooks returned to AHIMA for refund will be destroyed and cannot be returned to the customer.
Products damaged during manufacturing or handling will be replaced by AHIMA at no extra charge to the customer, but refunds will not be issued under any circumstances.
